By and large it was an okay year for GSN, a little worse than the two previous years but far from terrible. The network averaged 373K/269K viewers prime time/total day for the year. GSN ranked 41st and 31st in the windows. The total day rank means that our little game show network just missed the top 30, where they had landed in 2015 and 2016. The latest weekly report offered better ranks - a trend over the past couple months - so things might be looking up for GSN.
Of course, subjective evaluations of the network's year will vary from viewer to viewer. To nobody's surprise the oldies boards like what they've been seeing lately on GSN, namely, more old stuff. Not to mention a completely traditional game show schedule, which has been running for many months now.
As always, GSN skews very old. It's inevitable for the genre. But the whole country is skewing old, so this is not necessarily a calamity. A personal note: my guilty pleasure ID finished number seven in total day. Crime pays.
