Regina – The Regina Pats Hockey Club has acquired 18-year-old forward Tanner Sidaway, as well as a seventh round pick in 2018 from the Kootenay ICE in exchange for 19-year-old forward Jeff de Wit.
Sidaway (6’0, 181) is playing in his second full season in the WHL, last year with the ICE he scored two goals and had eight points in 65 games. The Victoria, B.C. product has a goal and an assist in five games to start the 2017-18 season.
“We are excited to add Tanner to our team,” said Pats Head Coach and GM John Paddock. “He is a fast and hardworking player that will add to our depth up front.”
Sidaway was originally a listed player by the Red Deer Rebels, but was sent to Kootenay in a trade in January of 2016.
de Wit meanwhile was acquired by the Pats from the Red Deer Rebels in January of 2017. The Red Deer product suited up in 37 regular season games with Regina, scoring five goals and six assists. de Wit played in 22 playoff games in 2017 picking up five goals and seven total points.
“We would like to thank Jeff for his contributions to our team,” said Paddock. “We wish him all the best in Kootenay with the ICE.”
