REGINA - Jake Leschyshyn's short-handed goal empty-net late in the third period was the game-winner as the Regina Pats got past Brandon 2-1 on Wednesday.
It was Regina's third win in a row, all by a one goal margin.
George King also scored for Regina (6-4-1), at 8:47 of the first period, when the Pats outshot Brandon 24-7.
They ended up outshooting Brandon 47-27 over the course of the game.
Ty Lewis scored for the Wheat Kings (7-3-1).
Brandon's Evan Weinger was given a match penalty for boarding at 4:00 of the second period.
Regina was 1/5 on the powerplay while Brandon was 0/4.
The Pats host the Victoria Royals on Friday at 7:00 pm on 620 CKRM.
