Another commenter has chimed in at the Game Show Paradise thread on the subject. There are definitely some shows that would not make my personal top 50 (or might just barely make it), but that I'd feel obligated to include if I was being more objective. Beat the Clock, Dating Game, Tic Tac Dough, Joker's Wild, Deal or No Deal, and Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader? are some of the shows that come to mind.
As it happens, all the shows he mentions are on my own top 50 list, with the exception of Tic Tac Dough. I just don't think the show is deserving, certainly not in its original rigged format, or even in the honest Wink rewind.
I like all the other listed shows with the exception of Joker's Wild, which is a pedestrian quizzer IMO. But it has historical importance as Jack Barry's return to the genre after years in the scandal wilderness. So it takes a (lowly) slot on my list...49th place, just above Press Your Luck.
Beat the Clock, Dating Game, Deal or No Deal and 5th Grader are on my list for both objective reasons - they were good shows with long runs - and because I like them. It's nice when both conditions apply.
