reported on Wednesday that the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Hamilton Tiger-Cats have had trade discussions involving Ticats quarterback Zach Collaros.
Roughriders Head Coach & GM Chris Jones commented on the report after Thursday's practice.
"That was very premature," Jones said. "The report was very premature. Were there conversations? Yeah. I mean they called and we spoke. But that's about the extent of it."
Veteran pivot Jeremiah Massoli has supplanted Collaros as Hamilton's starting quarterback for Monday's Labour Day Classic against the Toronto Argonauts at Tim Hortons Field.
