We all have prurient interest in other people's money lives.
Having retired a couple years ago, I'm a little less intrigued by what other folks take home in their paychecks. But I still wonder about the figures. Anyway,
a HuffPo story tells us that Pat Sajak makes $15 million a year on
Wheel of Fortune. How anybody except Pat and a few insiders know this, I'm not sure. But who am I to doubt the almighty Huffington?
The story links to
an earlier Variety article that gives figures for a couple other game show hosts. Three million per season for Alec Baldwin on
Match Game and $150,000 per episode for Steve Harvey on
Celebrity Family Feud.
Judging from the Nielsen numbers, I'd say ABC is overpaying for Baldwin and getting a bargain with Harvey. But the numbers may have changed by now. With the continued success of
Celebrity Family Feud, I have to think that Steve will get at least a few more bucks for next year's season. He needs the money, no doubt.
