Weyburn smacked out 15 hits in the game while Regina had nine in the contest. Both teams struggled in the field as the Beavers committed three errors while Regina had four fielding errors.
Neil Ring, a catcher from Spring Hill College, had two runs, three hits and three RBI for the visiting Beavers. Luis Jimenez added three doubles and 1 RBI to the Weyburn’s score card.
425 fans at Currie field watched field Justin Erlandson collect two hits including his fifth double in a losing cause.
Conner Starke, a junior from Mayville State University, earned his second victory of the season pitching four shutout innings for the Beavers.
Will Moore was the loser of record giving up seven runs on eight hits over 4.2 innings of work.
Regina and Swift Current are now tied for first overall in the Eastern Division.
Next up for Regina is a pair of games against the Edmonton Prospects at Currie Field. Both Thursday and Friday games start at 7:05 pm.
