RIOT HOST 2017 HOME-OPENER ON SUNDAY

The Regina Riot Football Team opens the 2017 season at home Sunday, May 7 against the Manitoba Fearless after a dominating win over them last week in pre-season action.

Although the Riot had an impressive win last week they are not taking the Manitoba Fearless lightly. It is important for the Riot to practice at an elite level regardless of their opponent.

“It was a great win last week but we are re-focused on our next game. It’s about the Regina Riot practicing to the best of our abilities.” said head coach Olivier Eddie.

Under new head coach, Eddie, the team is looking to improve over last year and bring the WWCFL Championship home.

As the love of football grows in the province, more and more women and girls are choosing to convert from spectators to players and are excelling very well. Nine players from the Regina Riot will be playing for Team Canada this year which is the most out of any other WWCFL team.

The Regina Riot will be unveiling their new uniforms at this weekend’s home opener. The team has not had new uniforms since 2012. The new uniforms were made possible by one of the Riot sponsors,Banbury Plumbing & Heating.

Tickets are available to be purchased online at http://ift.tt/2qPabdr or at the gate.
