SASKATOON - Following Tuesday's Day 3 of Roughriders Training Camp, Head Coach & GM Chris Jones announced the team will NOT be re-signing free agent defensive back Justin Cox.
Cox was found not guilty of a Domestic Violence charge on Monday and expressed his desire to return to the Riders, the team which cut him in April after the news of the charge surfaced.
Jones said as a father of a daughter, and the same goes for Rider Assistant GMs Jeremy O'Day and John Murphy, they all agreed they couldn't bring Cox back simply "on principle".
