FROM TSN: ESKIMOS FIRE HERVEY

The Edmonton Eskimos have fired general manager Ed Hervey, according to TSN's Ryan Rishaug.

The 43-year-old has been the general manager of the Esks for the past four seasons, winning a Grey Cup championship in 2015. Last season, Edmonton finished with a 10-8 record before losing to the Ottawa Redblacks in the East Final.

Hervey finishes with a record of 40-32 as Eskimos GM.

In Feb. 2015, he was also given the role of Vice President of Football Operations.

As a player, the wide receiver played in Edmonton from 1999 to 2006 and was an integral part of their 2003 and 2005 championship seasons. He was a CFL All-Star in 2001 and 2003 as well.
