Vanna regrets

A few stories have turned up on the game show Interwebs about Vanna White's regrets.

No, she doesn't rue her life as a letter-turner on Wheel of Fortune. Instead, she's a bit contrite over some revealing photos taken in 1982, which later turned up in Playboy in 1987. By then Vanna was famous for her alphabet chores on that little game show.

This story from the Washington Post recounts Vanna's legal tangles with Hugh Hefner and his magazine. Eventually she gave up the lawsuit struggle and acquiesced in the mild nudity. Life went on and the letters kept turning. But Vanna still wishes she hadn't posed for the pictures, which Playboy bought from photographer David Gurion, who didn't work for the magazine.

Vanna explains: "I did these lingerie shots and from the moment I said I would do them, I thought, 'I shouldn't be doing this, but I'm not going to ask my dad for money, so I'm just going to do it!'" Well, she did do it, as the screenshot shows, and that was that. We all do crazy things when we're young and silly...or old and silly, as in my case.
