Back came a long entry: Hollywood Squares/The Squares In Popular Culture. I hadn't realized just how deeply the ancient format had wormed its way into the national psyche. I counted 36 separate pop culture references in the entry, and I might have missed a few. Many of the notes came with screenshots and embedded videos. I couldn't resist The Simpsons for this blog entry.
It's tough to decide which of the wiki's listed references was the strangest. The porn movie from Hustler called This Ain't Hollywood Squares XXX: This is a Parody has to rank right up there. I also noticed a comment on Pee Wee Herman, which reminded me of Paul Reubens' unfortunate brush with the law.
The entry mentioned some TV shows and movies that were so obscure I had never heard of them. Hollywood Squares has gotten around to the oddest nooks and crannies of the pop culture universe.
